Ben Hogan is recognized as the professional golfer with the most profound influence on golf swing theory in the history of the sport. DaVinci Sports Golf division has incorporated Hogan’s superior ball striking skills into our outstanding line of swing devices. The DaVinci aids and equipment are utilized by the top PGA teaching professionals across the country.
Hogan was born in 1912 in Stephenville, TX. Fun facts: 2 other future golf Hall of Famers, Byron Nelson and Sam Snead, were born within 6 months of Hogan. And Nelson and Hogan competed against each other in junior tournaments in north Texas before the age of 16. Hogan’s Father, Chester, was a blacksmith, who tragically committed suicide when Hogan was only 9 years old. Many golf historians believe Hogan’s famously introverted personality was driven by Chester taking his life. Hogan was forced to help the family make ends meet by delivering newspapers followed by a job as golf caddy at the age of 11. This set Hogan on a track to golf greatness. Hogan dropped out of high school as a senior to turn pro in 1930.
Hogan won 9 major championships, tied for 4th all-time with Gary Player. Hogan is one of only 5 players to win all 4 of the major titles joining Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Gary Player and Gene Sarazen. Hogan was inducted in the Golf Hall of Fame in 1974.
