In Focus – Fred Couples Has A “Buttery” Swing Many Players Envy

It’s the year 2017, and at 57 years young, Fred Couples is still maintaining a very high level of play with a golf swing many professionals and amateurs alike view with extreme envy. In The Masters earlier this year, Couples played into the weekend on the first page of the leaderboard with players half his age. It’s an amazing accomplishment for the Seattle-born Couples, who has shown amazing longevity. Couples is best known for winning the 1992 Masters among his 15 overall PGA Tour victories.

The part of Couples game that is most admired is his well executed golf swing. DaVinci Golf incorporates many components and variables of Couples swing into our line of outstanding training devices. Couples swing has been described as fluid, smooth, rhythmic, effortless and a thing of beauty. In actuality, Couples swing is considered to be unorthodox and highly individualistic. When his swing is viewed from behind, Couples feet, hips, and shoulders are aimed well to the left of center. His shots primarily start to the right of the target and draw (turn right to left). For the average player, the set-up usually results in a slice. Not for Couples – his long-standing success has withstood the test of time.
